With the announcement of the Australian Rally Championship's (ARC) rule changes moving the points championship away from four-wheel drive to two-wheel drive cars, the 2012 season is shaping up to be an exciting one. These rule changes allow any two-wheel drive production car sold in Australia over the last seven years to compete in the championship, opening up the field to a whole heap of cars that previously couldn't compete.
One of the drivers jumping on the bandwagon is Jack Monkhouse, piloting this purpose-built S15 Silvia. The S15 is fairly dominant in all forms of motorsport but until now, they have been limited to events held on sealed roads. Jack is determined to prove that the Silvia can duke it out on the gravel and after his first event in the car at Rally Calder, we reckon he will do just that.
As per the ARC rules, the S15 is fairly stock engine-wise. A slightly beefed up side mount intercooler, a bit more boost and a Haltech tuned by Adam at Just Engine Management see the Silvia pump out a respectable 208rwkw. That being said though, it isn't all about power in rally and considering the low levels of traction offered off-road, this is more than enough to get Jack roaring through whatever the 2012 season can throw at him.

ARC said that the rule changes were intended to include cars that are more exciting to watch and if the past is anything to go by, Jack behind the wheel of an S-chassis will be a sight to behold. Check out the video below to get some history on Jack and hear straight from his mouth the nitty-gritty details of the world's first S15 rally car!
