Meguiar's MotorEx Superstars Qualifiers

Street Machine Summernats 36 is run and done for another year, with six standout rides snagging a spot in the Meguiar's Superstars competition at MotorEx later in the year.
Summernats 36 Meguiar's Superstars Qualifiers

Summernats 36 was run hot with over 25 of the wildest new builds unveiled for the first time ever. Amongst a sea of standout unveil cars, there was a stack of the country's very best elite cars on display. Webby and his judging team had the hard task of picking out just six of these cars to compete at Meguiar's MotorEx later in the year in the Meguiar's Superstars competition — Australia's largest gathering of super-elite show stunners. Check out the six qualifiers below.

Joe Bauer - Dodge Charger

Our Street Machine Summernats 36 Grand Champion, Joe Bauer unveiled this 3000hp show-stopping Mopar and was an instant hit amongst the crew. It snagged the People's Choice award at the show amongst a whole host of awards and the all important Chic Henry Sword.

Craig McKenzie - Holden HR Ute

Craig McKenzie's re-imagination of Ditch Jones' HR Ute has proved to be a huge success since its debut at Summernats 35. The car has been completely transformed and sits today as one of the top elite show cars in the country. Craig managed to snag a Meguiar's Super Six spot at the last MotorEx, and we're sure he'll be up amongst the top end of the order once again.

Eddie Khazi - Ford XE Fairmont

The Khazi Bros have built themselves a winner here. This XE was a standout at Summernats with an ultra-tough street stance and killer paint job. The Barra-powered XE Ghia was a crowd favourite during the unveils at Summernats 36 and also made a mark parked up near Tuff Street for the PPG Supreme Awards on Sunday morning. We can't wait to see it again at MotorEx in May.

Jason Sandner - Holden LX Torana

Jason's LX Torana is a homage to the days of Group-C racing, but finished to a clinically smick level. It's a true elite car and has always been a crowd favourite at whatever event it shows up at. The LX goes as good as it looks, thanks to a 378-cube donk that houses some top-end gear. It spits out about 600rwhp and turns and drives like a weapon thanks to some serious suspension work.

Tim McDonald - Ford XY Falcon

January's Street Machine magazine cover car dubbed 'TRIGGA' has managed to snag a spot in the Meguiar's Superstars hall at MotorEx 22 in May. The Ford is powered by a cracking 427ci Dart-blocked Windsor with an 8/71 blower and PFP injector hat, and is as tough as it looks. The crew at Streety have a pretty rad story to go along with the build, but you'll just have to head to the local servo and grab your copy so you can read it.

Clayton Gow - Datsun 1200 Ute

Clayton's Datto has been a labour of love for over 15 years, and it shows on the finish of the car. For such a little car, it's got details for days and a pretty hearty mill sitting up front. Powered by a LSA 6.2L engine with plenty of fruity bits, this is a mean as little pro-street build and we're stoked Clayton's hard work has paid off with an invite to the Meguiar's Superstars competition.
