VIDEO: Rockynats 03 With JBens - Part 2

Rare Spares Rockynats 03 featured street drags, a dedicated cruise route, and burnout pad finals with prize money and awards. Over 1500 cars and bikes participated in the event.

Part two of our special Rare Spares Rockynats 03 feature has just dropped with our lunatic mate JBens taking us around Queensland's coolest car festival. The sun beamed down on the city of Rockhampton to the sounds of screaming engines, tyres turning and tens of thousands of punters having a maad time.

Sunday morning kicked off with the Road to Rockynats Champion street drags, with all important driving points up for grabs. Like other events, it's all well and good to have a wild elite show car, but you've gotta be able to drive it to win it. There's nothing quite like being woken up by the sound of a screaming twin-turbo V10 Ford XP Falcon, or Billy Shelton's 'SICKEST' VL Commodore smoking up the entire 1/8th mile track.

One of the best ways to chill out at the event is within the CBD precinct on East and Bolsover Streets, where punters can cruise their prized machines on a dedicated cruise route. You'll see anything from wild streeters to elite show cars cutting some laps here, and it was a great way to catch our breath before we headed over to the burnout pad for the finals.

With a stack of prize money on offer plus two Street Machine Summernats 36 burnout tix up for grabs, the competition ran hot on the Buddy's Fire Burnout pad. There were some incredible performances from some of the best tyre shredders in the country, and what an awesome atmosphere it was with the crowds packed in to get a glimpse at their favourite burnout machines.

We met back up the gang at the Full Throttle Awards ceremony, were we finished the weekend on a high and awarded a bunch of high-achievers with their trophies. We'll have a full article with a list of all the results posted right here on Performance Garage shortly, so stay tuned.

A ridiculously cool weekend with 1500-plus of Australia's very best cars and bikes. We just can't wait to head back up in 2024 and do it all over again. If you've got the post event blues like us and want some more Rockynats action, check out the video below! Maad.
