Over the past six years Pulse Racing have cemented themselves as one of Sydney’s forefront workshops when it comes to the all-wheel drive animals from Mitsubishi and Subaru, with founder Paul Fisher’s magic touch in a constant state of high demand.
We talked to Paul a couple of months back about his preparations for the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge and with just over a week left until the competition kicks off, we thought we’d drop by and check out the Pulse Racing Evo as well as the rest of the workshop.
For those of you not familiar with Pulse Racing they are one of the country’s best when it comes to Subarus and Mitsubishis, carrying out in-depth servicing along with serious performance modifications.
It’s not all about the all-wheel drive though, as Paul loves to take on a challenge. Pulse aren't limited to just Japanese performance either!
The video above shows a VZ Monaro that has had its LS stroked out to 493ci and with the help of a Harrop supercharger kid, cranks out a massive 501kW!
Paul has over 15 years of experience with modified cars and motorsport, working over in the United States for a time and tuning internationally with MRT Performance before going out on his own.
Pulse have been involved with the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge since day one, way back when it was known as Superlap.
Over the years the Pulse Racing Evo has evolved from Paul’s daily driver into one of the country’s craziest time attack cars and we expect that it will be one of the cars to upset international guests for the first time at this year’s event.
The Pulse team have been hard at work getting ready for the 2012 event after an oil starvation issue forced them to pull out last year, and by the looks of things they’re going to be coming back strong!
Another project they’ve been working on is the new Subaru BRZ, with Paul one of the first in the country to get his hands on one.
Check out our chat with Paul about his BRZ above.
They’ve already had it on the dyno as well as chucked some suspension gear from Tein and Fulcrum Suspensions underneath it, so we can’t wait to see what they do to it next!
