If you follow us on Facebook you will have already seen the Performance Garage team hitting Meguiar’s MotorEx in force over the weekend, but for those of you who missed it, here’s our quick recap.

MotorEx is one of our favourite car shows and this year it went above and beyond our highest  expectations. With the country’s best cars concentrated into the epic venue that is The Dome at Sydney Olympic Park, it's a recipe for success!

The place was absolutely packed with thousands of enthusiasts flowing between hundreds of immaculately detailed vehicles. We were setup with our very own Performance Garage display and lots of you stopped by for a chat.

Craig Hewitt from Hewitt Racing was nice enough to display his epic Monaro build on our stand and it drew a crowd all weekend long.

The  gorgeous Giaa and stunning Stacey from EDGE Models also helped us out at the stand, happy to pose with Performance Garage fans like Herman from Down Under Muscle.

One of the main attractions of MotorEx is the House Of Kolor Inauguration that sees cars debuted to the public for the very first time.

This amazing Mustang was revealed on Saturday to a sea of onlookers. Built by the infamous Gary Myers, it had people talking immediately.

This year saw a record number of cars unveiled, including the heavily-hyped blown late-model Camaro burnout car known as KILLA-B built by Steve Nogas.

We caught up with Steve to have a chat about what went into this build and by the sounds of things, he won’t be afraid to really get up it once it’s out on the pad despite the obviously large amounts of work that have gone into it.

Another car unveiled for the first time was this immaculately presented 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air owned by Paul Soumo and built by Pro Flo Performance.

The coveted Meguiar's Superstar 'Best of Breed' Street Machine Champion award went to Paul Bennett and his incredible green machine. "What is it?" we hear you ask - a highly customised 1958 Borgward Goliath.

Sure, the never-before-seen cars are a big attraction of MotorEx, but the show also offers the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some of the more famous cars on the scene, with their familiarity in no way detracting from the amazing craftsmanship on display.

The Prodigy Z06 was back for its second year after being debuted at the last MotorEx and proved that it was still a crowd favourite. This car is based on a 2003 C5 Corvette and has had a genuine C2 Corvette body stretched over the top, heavily modified as a tribute to the classic shape with a modern flare. The team you see above carried out the entire project in a South Australian shed but no matter how closely you look at the thing, you would swear it rolled off the Chevrolet production line!

A car that many in the Pro Street scene are familiar with is the 6-second Staunch Racing Camaro. This beast sports a massive 864ci giggle-gas gulper and when Johnny decided to fire it up, people flocked!

MotorEx brings out plenty of trade experts so you can chat to them about their products and expertise. The Harrop stand had a lot on offer.

Another Pro Streeter in attendance was Rob Godfrey, showing off his new Torana known as TOYTOO.

For those of you unfamiliar with Rob he is an old-hand at the show scene, winning Summernats Grand Champion and running 8s in his HQ ute. He’s now dropped TOYTON’s driveline into this well set up Torana and will be hitting the strip extremely soon.

Ford Coupes don't come much more beautiful than this. Ewan McDonald won 'Best of Breed' Hot Rod Champion with his gorgeous 1934 model.

Michelle Davies' '76 Holden LX Torana stunned crowds at it's unveiling. The anticipation surrounding Outlaw 10.5 racing is reaching fever pitch with so many new cars cropping up.

Part of MotorEx’s appeal is its ability to attract international celebrities year after year. Cruising around we bumped into the world-famous custom car builder John D’Agostino, visiting two cars he built back in 2004.

You also get a chance to chat to some of Australia’s most reputable names in all facets of car customisation and check out examples of their work. Take Adam LeBrese pictured above as an example. His bagged XC perfectly demonstrates the skills of the LeBrese Custom Division and he was more than happy to have a chat about the car.

This flawless HQ Monaro belongs to Karen Keves.

The latest incarnation is known as Mission Impossible.

Joe Russo brought out his fresh '68 Chevy Camaro.

More twin-turbo domination under the hood!

Mick Fabar's '67 XR Falcon - Australia's first turbo-diesel street machine.

Possibly the most unique car at MotorEx, it's worth taking a look at the car's Facebook page.

Another brilliant HQ Monaro, this one from Jody Vincitorio, dubbed 'CHOPPT'.

Meguiar's even featured the car and owner in a commercial for MotorEx 12 which you can see here.

Meguiar’s MotorEx is a truly awesome show and for those of you who missed out this year, we recommend that you begin making plans for the next one.

Not only is it a great show but it is supporting the great cause of Camp Quality. For the rest of the formal details like who won what and why, check out the Meguiar’s MotorEx website

We have so many shots from the day, so here's a few more of them to whet your appetite.
