Vid: Crazy Modified Lambos!

Japan is home to a unique modified car culture that is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. For years we have been captivated by images from the land of the rising sun that float around the Internet in a seemingly endless stream of absolute insanity, far surpassing the limits of what we have come to expect locally.

Enter Liberty Walk and it's eccentric founder Kato Wataru. Started in 1993, this workshop set out to change the way people looked at automotive workshops, creating an amusement park vibe and bringing enthusiasm to the youth.

Kato-san is responsible for importing a number of American and European cars into his workshop and reworing them for his elite clientele. On top of that is his real passion; custom Lamborghini projects.

It is this custom work that we have become particularly interested in of late, namely the gang of wildly modified Lamborghinis that fall under Liberty Walk's LB Performance branch.

Liberty Walk are one of the few to cater to the exclusive custom Lambo market, creating over the top body kits that add to the supercar's already stunning design. Ownership of a Lamborghini comes with a big enough price tag as it is so you can imagine the buyers that are attracted to the LB Performance touch.

Japan's super-rich employ Kato-san to carry out all sorts of modifications; from wild aero modifications to engine work to unique colour schemes. Liberty Walk are also known for their quirky LamborMini.

Their impact has been so profound that some people are racing digital versions of their cars in the new Gran Turismo 5 video game.

Check out the video below, produced by Luke Huxham, to take a look at some of the craziest Lambos we've ever seen and get an insight into the man behind them.
