Croydon Race Developments is the go to shop for building some of the wildest Nissan powered cars on the planet, and they've struck an absolute number with JJ's 200sx S14 dubbed 'OVRLRD'. JJ has owned the 200sx for yonks now and its current form is the third fresh build on the car.
The first combo saw the factory SR20 chucked and replaced with an RB26DETT, making a solid 700hp which would have been a hell of a street car. JJ then got in touch with the team from Croydon Race Developments who stepped it up a notch with a 2.8 litre RB build, paired with a Samsonas sequential transmission making roughly 1100hp — which ran a whopping 8.89 on its first pass.
Now, on the third build they've gone even further with a combo capable of upwards of 1600 horsepower. The S14 is now powered by a 3.2 litre billet block RB, with a CRD race cylinder head and a Precision Pro Mod 98 turbocharger — a combo that on its very first run in tune (with 30psi of boost) made 1100hp. It's an absolutely stout bit of gear that should bring JJ into the 7 second club down the 1/4 mile.
As you'd expect from a build like this, its finished to an absolutely insane elite-level finish, boasting custom titanium plumbing throughout, a gorgeous paint job and some intricate carbon fibre bits planted throughout. JJ reckons he’s put in over half-a-million dollars into the build, making it probably the most expensive S14 on the planet.
Despite the carbon fibre doors, drag wing, side exit exhausts and the two parachutes hanging off the back - the S14 still retains the majority of its factory components. It’s a through and through street car, with full glass and all the luxuries you’d expect including the full interior, carpet, sound system and it even retains the factory powered sunroof.
It’s by far the wildest S14 we’ve ever come across, and it really pushes the boundaries of what’s capable on one of Nissan’s most iconic platforms. Larry Chen got to hang out with JJ and go over all the fine details of the car, and it is definitely a must watch. Check it out and let us know what you reckon.
