Red Lion Pride Still Strong On All Holden Day

Australia is extremely proud of its Red Lion pride that is held in the holden badge, over the years across all states we celebrate many great makes and models produced in our own backyard.

Sunday 6th August saw over 850 Holdens on display for the 35th running of this great event at Hawksbury Showground in Western Sydney, it was well supported by many clubs, Torana, Early Holden, Monaro Club and more. Showing up for a sunny day out there were also many standout vehicles from one off prototypes, such as a full spec Army FX Holden ute, an amazing factory black X2 HR station Wagon, original EH sedan and quite a few modified vehicles.

You might recognise one in particular after being unveiled at Summernats a few years ago and gracing the covers of Street Machine, Michelle White’s HZ sedan which took out “Car of the Day”.

There was also a huge swap meet which started at dawn on the Saturday and went right through until the Sunday afternoon. Times are a bit tougher on the car sales and big-ticket items but there was plenty of cash flowing for those elusive parts to finish off people’s projects.

Over the two days there were quite a few businesses selling brand new stock, but most were new old stock, repaired and old parts needing restoration over the 150 swap sites. Lots of people out just enjoying the time hunting for the next bargain, with parts getting harder to source these days it’s become quiet a fun hunt for motor treasure.

Another event with good sites, great cars, and big crowds after the hiatus of the event over the last few years and excellent overall vibe with everyone looking forward to next year.
