Sydney Jamboree Action!

Saturday's rain couldn't keep fans and racers alike from Sydney's biggest ever sport compact drag racing event - the Sydney Jamboree!

The stars of the show were the Factory Xtreme and Outlaw 10.5 guys and solid 6sec passes were the order of the day.

Here Archie Kajewski faces off against Factory Xtreme pilot, Milos Pavlovic in his competition debut. Milos knocked out a 6.60sec pass at 213mph in eliminations in the Top RPM Celica.

The pits were a hive of activity all day with eye candy of all descriptions on show.

The Jambo babe and bikini comps are now huge in Sydney.

This was easily one of the best sounding four-cylinders on the day.

Both George Rehayem in the Pac Performance Mazda 6 and Mark Jacobsen in the Godzilla Motorsport suffered mechanical gremlims on the day but it stopped neither from putting on a show for the fans.

Damien McKern struggled on the start line but still managed some solid 8sec passes and a best of an 8.1.

Dressed in all black there's very little that looks nastier or faster than Scott Porter's G35 Inifiniti. Just the look for the world's quickest and fastest Nissan.

Daniel Ruggier was continuing his great form through from the Brisbane Jamboree with killer consistency and reaction times to kill for.

Billet block, two big turbos, a heap of methanol and 220+mph runs. It must be the SPR G35!

Drag cars don't always look this pretty.

With a fresh coat of paint and a new sponsor in the form of Madclown Industries, Chris Tait and the 'Money Pit' S14 struggled early but got it all together in racing with a low 7sec effort.

While blown and injected Toranas aren't what you'd call a Jambo staple, Shelly Davies' big block beast was racing in Outlaw 10.5 where absolutely anything goes. With a new engine combo on board this will be one car to watch closely.

Small tyre racing is one of the most popular parts of Jamboree with the Street 289 guys doing their best to put huge turbocharged horsepower to the track through 9in wide slicks.

In bracket racing reaction time is everything. While the purple 'TEMPER' VL gave away eight tenths on the dial-in, his reaction time was measured in seconds and gifted an easy win to Mick McGregor.

Believe it or not, Dom 'Rossi' Perri was racing off the footbrake in Street 289 but was going rounds and lifting the front wheels high into the air each time.

Zoran Gajic is an experienced Factory Xtreme pilot but he had something up his sleeve for Jamboree recording a 228.9mph qualifying pass - the second fastest sport compact pass ever run anywhere in the world and second only to his tuner, Joe Signorelli.

Gina Bullians is a gun behind the wheel of her Mazsport RX-7.

This little RX-3 coupe made the journey all the way from Western Australia where it contests the Super Comp championship.

Small tyre racers don't come any more bad-ass than this machine. Po Tung's insane 7sec Supra was another Signorelli-tuned car to find some extra muscle recording a 203mph pass and then backing it up with a spectacular 207mph performance! Mind-bending stuff on a 9in slick!

Two 94mm turbos on a 526ci AJ 481x motor provide the mumbo here.

The countdown now begins for Brisbane Jamboree - 21st-22nd of September 2013 at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway. See www.jamboree.com.au for info.
