Sweet HT Monaro

This HT Monaro made its debut at the 2010 Monaro Nationals and its new owners have taken it to an even higher level.

Ricky and Tanya Allen have always liked their show-quality classic-era Holdens. They used to own a pair of FJs, one with a V8 and one with a V6, until they decided to sell them and buy this stunning Monaro which they’ve since modified even further.

The couple first came across this Pearl Red HT at the 2010 Monaro Nationals which they attended to support Tanya’s father who had rebuilt one in just 12 months immediately prior to the event. This red car wasn’t actually for sale then, but Ricky and Tanya still found themselves very much drawn to it.

“We had our eye on one car in particular that was just finished and driven straight up from NSW. Although not for sale, we took many photos of this car, and spoke to the owner about the build. Six months or so later I saw the car being advertised for sale. I called and arrangements were made for us to purchase our first Monaro”.

Since buying the car the Allens have had the interior reupholstered in leather, added an in-car entertainment package with two DVD screens (one in the front and one in the back) and had the 5L Holden V8’s entire EFI induction system replaced, ECU and all.

Ricky’s mate Andrew from Bliss Custom Machining made a one-off 8-throttle trumpet manifold and the engine management is now calculated by a Haltech Platinum Sport ECU. This change gives an already-impressive engine bay an absolutely stunning appearance.

The Allens took their further-modified HT from Queensland to the Monaro Nationals in South Australia’s Barossa Valley in 2014 and the car again received quite a substantial amount of attention, and they even had a matching pedal car on display with it.

There is a 9-page feature and a double-page poster of Ricky and Tanya Allen’s stunning HT Monaro in issue 69 of Xtreme Holdens magazine which you can find on sale now.
