Skid Vids: Terra and Stealth HZ

These two burnout utes are actually the same vehicle at different points in time. We might have to start thinking more like Doctor Who to figure out what happened and when in this story.

This HZ burnout ute has been owned, and rebuilt, by two mates from Western Australia. The second of those two owners, Ben Colgate, was actually quite involved at both points in this vehicle’s time stream, but for this entry we shall try to concentrate on the first.

Matt Purnell (pictured) owned the project when it was turned into the attention-grabbing Wildfire Red monster known as TERRA. Matt bought the ute back in 2006 and ran an aspirated engine combination for a while before deciding to step things up with a blower.

That means both regenerations of this HZ ute saw it have essentially the same driveline package of a stroked and supercharged Chev Big Block V8 with around 490ci so its shouting voice sounded very similar after its STEALTH transformation as well.

Here is a nice long six and a half minute compilation of TERRA blowing multiple sets of back tyres off in burnout competitions from 2010 to early 2012. Note how it grows a blower for the 2011 SA Gazzanats part-way into the vid.

And here is TERRA winning the Blown class at the Perth Burnout Masters in 2012. Also note the evolving paint scheme with charcoal now occupying the space on the top half of the body at this point in time.
