Next month Shane van Gisbergen will make his second NASCAR Cup start with the TrackHouse Racing team in the Verizon 200 At The Brickyard on August 13.
It was only at the start of this month Shane shocked the NASCAR community with a win in Chicago on his debut. The 100 lap race was cut short to 75 laps due to a delayed start. Shane took the lead in the closing stages of the race after having momentarily dropping back to 18th position at one stage.
The Verizon 200 At The Brickyard will see both Supercars drivers Shane van Gisbergen and Brodie Kostecki race in NASCAR Cup- the first time two (fulltime) Supercars drivers have featured in the same race. Along with them, former Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button and Kamui Kobayashi will also join the race field.

The course for the Verizon At The Brickyard 200 at Indianapolis only uses part of the oval track and makes use of the layout previously used by Formula 1 in years gone by.
Shane is super excited to be taking on yet another NASCAR Cup race. Shane said:
Just getting to race in NASCAR is an opportunity I never thought I would get, but then to win and get another chance this year is beyond anything I imagined. Everyone in NASCAR welcomed me to Chicago and it’s been awesome to see how big the reception from that race has been around the world.
Both Shane and Brodie will jump out of their respective NASCAR cars and will be straight back on the plane to tackle the next Supercars round at The Bend the following weekend. Both drivers are currently in the hunt for the 2023 Supercars Championship.

Will Shane notch up a second win? Or could Brodie scalp his first ever NASCAR Cup race win on debut much like Shane? All we know is many Australian and New Zealand eyes will be glued to the TV come August 13.
