Tamworth well is known for its Country Music Festival, it’s also home to the Shannons Tamworth Motor Show over the last eleven years.

Getting to the Shannons Tamworth Motor Show is easy, just five hours North of Sydney and seven hours from Brisbane. This show gets a crowd of over 4000 spectators through the doors is growing every year and starting to get some big names bringing their cars for a weekend of fun in the country.

Held at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre (TRECC) over the Saturday and Sunday, it’s the perfect climate to hold a car show in a heated centre with a huge area for vehicles.

Over the weekend there was a great mix of classic, collectable, show cars and even a restored tractor section. Amongst this year’s display were a few Summernats show-winning standouts joining in on the fun, including Owen Webb’s 1969 Chevrolet Camaro which took out Best Show Car. Charlie Harley’s 1957 Chevrolet Coupe took out Best In Show and Bill Sharkey’s stunning 1955 Chevrolet was also in attendence.

The variety for motoring enthusiasts was great with vintage rally and race bikes making the cut. Taking out People’s Choice Bike was a stunning restored red vintage Indian, and People’s Choice Vehicle went to a 1958 Chevrolet Deluxe Convertible.

Lining the grassy knolls of TRECC were street machines and some classic street vintage autos. We couldn’t have asked for better weather over the weekend, with sunny crisp country mornings and hot coffee and great food from the vendors all day.

Over the two days there is was some entertainment on the Saturday night with a ticketed dinner and guest speakers held at TRECC. Many others also headed into town to the Longyard Hotel which had live music and a great vibe.

This event is an amazing escape to the country to hang out with friends and chat cars with many great like-minded people and how can we forget the scenic views of rural NSW.
