Kickin' Up The Dust At Mick Doohan - Dust Hustle 15

Well, what can we say for Dust Hustle 15 other than ‘holy inappropriate dirt day!’

We had everything in one huge day from the bikini Jet ski rider to the dirt slinging disco diva with the mirrored swing arm, the pits sure were a sight to behold. Mick Doohan was quickly shaping up to be one rad day of flat track fun, with plenty of sideways action for the crowds.

Fonzie Abbott once again coming in with the caffeinated goods from early hours of the morning, the cold brews becoming very popular helping kickstart the sunny morning. Running two new tracks this event, the morning track ‘The Busted Spud’ and ‘The Can Opener’ in the arvo. Taking it to new extremes on the flat track with addition of a jump after turn one, quite a sight to see the road bikes and a penny-farthing taking on the jump like champions.

The dust hustling kicked off from nine on track with the ‘MX/Enduro’ hoons first out the gate, setting the pace in the most non-competitive race. There were some wacky get-ups in the ‘Old Mates’ class, but the craziest came through for the ‘Small Bike Burners’ in the start line of the queen and her noble guard, maverick, top-hat and coat tails and the stylish disco diva. Last out in the class line up was the ‘Risky Road Bikes’, impressive is an understatement with the crews from Royal Enfield and Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson both putting on a great show.

It was a warm one for the punters watching from the Young Henry’s bar, but it was the place to be after grabbing a feed from of the great selection of food vendors. The lunch time action on track was jam packed with entertainment, Pro Riders putting on a mad show. In popular demand the Dixxon DT Dirt Hack was run for the first time, it was entertainment plus. Shortly after was the Biggest Bell Helmets Expression we’ve seen, two winners taking home brand new helmets for a solid effort on track and putting on the best show.

If there was a best on ground for the day we would have to say it was Scott Pinnington with his milk create strapped to his DT, tacking out the Bell Helmets Expression session first prize, The Dixxon DT Dirt Hack third and the first prize in Old Mates class. This was a gallant win from just having the rad day out on track with mates ripping the throttle and hanging it out sideways, can’t ask for much better than that.

Dust Hustle 16 is ramping up to be a massive one out at QMP with dates to be released soon, so you can start sorting that quirky rider wear out to impress the crowds.
