Hennessey's New 1355kW 'Revolution Roadster' Will Blow Your Mind

Hennessey has unleashed the Revolution Roadster, an exhilarating addition to its hypercar lineup.

The renowned Texas-based hypercar manufacturer has debuted this track-focused convertible, aiming to establish it as the world's fastest convertible.

Set to make its formal appearance on August 18 during Monterey Car Week’s ‘The Quail’, the Revolution Roadster boasts a bare carbon finish on its exterior, showcasing handcrafted exposed carbon-fibre weave across its body.

This model, joining the Venom F5 Coupe, Venom F5 Roadster, and Venom F5 Revolution Coupe, showcases Hennessey's dedication to high-performance engineering.

Enhancements are not in short supply for the Revolution Roadster. Larger front and rear splitters, front fascia dive planes, and a substantial rear spoiler ensure improved handling and increased downforce compared to its Revolution Coupe counterpart.

The suspension has been meticulously tuned, and new wheels have been fitted, all to maintain its blistering speeds even with the top down. Furthermore, the Revolution Roadster preserves the unique gill-like air intake from the Revolution Coupe, strategically positioned to cool the powerful mid-mounted 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged pushrod V8 engine, delivering an astounding 1355kW of power and 1617Nm of torque with an 8000rpm redline. This powerhouse can be admired through a rear cabin window.

Hennessey's craftsmanship is evident in the lightweight carbon fibre composite roof panel, which can be swiftly removed by an individual. Despite its mere 8kg weight, it is both insulated and firmly secured, designed to withstand the elements and aerodynamic forces at extreme speeds.

All 12 units of the Revolution Roadster have already been claimed at a price of US$3 million (AU$4.6 million) each. As John Hennessey, the CEO and founder of the company, emphasises, the Revolution Roadster expertly combines the exhilaration of open-air motoring with a racing circuit focus.

Hennessey's vision is clear: while they celebrate their V8 engine legacy, they are also looking forward to an electrifying future with their innovative six-wheel drive 'hyper GT' electric vehicle teased in 2021.
