Luke Mitchell's Holden HK Monaro

A familiar face to the elite show scene is Luke Mitchell, known well for his incredible build ‘EVIL LJ’ that took out plenty of elite awards from all the panicle events over the past few years. Luke has been working on a 1968 Holden HK Monaro for last two years and is keen to show it off.

This time going for the concourse build in a stunning Warwick Yellow, Luke tells us this genuine 307 car had not much more to work with other than good tags - replacing nearly every panel in and out.

Elton Walker's 1957 Chevrolet Stationwagon

Elton Walker will be bringing his beautiful 1957 Chevrolet he has been working on over the past 11 years. It has been converted into a cool four-seat wagon. Built to drive, Elton has fitted an LSA (576hp crate motor) with QA1 front coil overs and four-link rear sitting on a smoothed satin graphite metallic chassis.

The interior has had special treatment from Shane from Image Trimming, creating a custom two-tone leather style that flows throughout the entire build. The body and paint will be the first thing to grab your attention with a classy deep burgundy and graphite two-tone, really making the custom one-piece front and rear bars stand out. With features like key-fob operated tailgate and window, there is lots more to check out on this beauty.

Steve Wilke's VL Walkinshaw

Even if you’re not a Holden fan Steve Wilkes’s VL Walkinshaw is one all car enthusiasts would be in awe of. Steve has spent the last two years putting together this mean looking street machine. Setup with a full roll cage looking stealth surrounded by a fully customised fawn leather interior.

You’ll hear it coming before you see it but when we drop the covers at Rockynats 03 the colour will have your jaw on the floor. The deep wet-looking gunmetal flake will make you wonder why there isn’t more like this around. Under the bonnet is a 408ci supercharged LS stroker that pumps out 843hp at the tyres. Handling all that grunt is a sheet metal nine-inch rear with a set of 18inch Simmons wheels. Steve’s favourite part of the build was hanging with mates - just wait until rocky, Steve.

Trevor Cooper's Holden LC Torana

Trevor Cooper’s Holden Torana looks every bit like an LC Torana yet underneath it’s another animal all together. This nine-year build is a ground-up restoration with Trevor removing the floor to replace it with a tubular chromoly funny car style frame on a Dave Miller chassis with a removable front end. First plans for an LS2 quickly changed to a 520ci blown big block with a 16/71.

With even more impact than the driveline and stance is the colour of this race rocket. It’s coated in fantail orange with the interior done in custom fabricated tin which has been painted in a contrasting silver-fox metallic. This unveil will be epic with sights set for the Winternationals this year. Either way, you’ll be seeing plenty of this Torana around.

Bruce Knight's 1977 Holden LX Torana Hatch

Bruce Knight is racing the clock to get his 1977 Holden LX Torana Hatch ready for the big dance at Rockynats. Bruce has taken this classic muscle car and given it a new lease on life. It’s fitted with an LS2, a Turbo 350 gearbox, nine-inch rear diff and Viking coil-over suspension. The interior has been given a modern touch with a HSV dash, HSV modified rear seat and Holden VE Ute front seats.

Keeping it a little bit old school with the vintage air, this build is a great combo of both eras. Everything about the outside of this iconic Torana screams old school tough - reverse cowl, big drop tank, 19-inch billets with 19x11 rear boots tucked under the neatly fitted flares. Topping the build off is the colour. Bruce has chosen to customise a Mercedes-Benz iridium silver which has been ceramic coated with the addition of a ghosted hockey stripe running down the style lines of this beautiful body. This is going to be one tough street machine cruising the streets.

Chris Pasceo's Ford Falcon XY

Patience is key in Chris Pasceo’s case after looking for five years for the perfect project. He finally found his dream Ford Falcon XY by chance during his day job as a real estate agent. Chris has spent the last five years alongside builder Tony Horsman of Custom Street Restorations with this one-owner Falcon, restoring every nut and bolt on the entire build from bare steel. Based off the GT Falcon, this build looks very factory with lots of detail added that is period correct. A keen eye will notice the 351ci Cleveland is actually a 434ci - a brand new arrow block.

The interior getting a full re-trim to look like the original style, which is no doubt work well with the stunning teal paint. Other features include a nine-inch diff, disc brake upgrade and custom twin three-inch exhaust - all very subtle. Many Ford lovers will be drooling over this build.
