We like to feature some truly oddball cars in Performance Imports, and here’s a prime example, the Abflug/Pentroof Schwarzer Supra from Japan.
Abflug’s bodykits go either one way or the other. You either love them or you hate them. This one was modelled off a Ferrari (note 430-like lights) for a customer in the country.
The all-FRP kit really pushes the normal JZA80 body out to insanely wide proportions, necessitating the unusual Abflug Gran Revolfe Prism II wheels in mega 19x10in -40 rear sizing.
Abflug looked after the body and infamous tuner Pentroof took care of all the mechanicals, the T78-33D pushing the 2JZ-GTE to around 612hp. It’s all finished off beautifully and shows real attention to detail, something Pentroof is famous for.
This is actually a street car, believe it or not, with a lot more fabrication and custom parts than you’d first believe. The brakes and interior have also been completely out-fitted and upgraded.
Uwabo-san’s really outdone himself here. Be sure to pick up issue 158 of Performance Imports on sale now for the full story on this unusual ride, one that’s packed with surprises.
