Every Rare Spares Rockynats Unveil Car To Date

There’s been some pretty serious metal unveiled at Rare Spares Rockynats so far, with plenty more on the way next Easter!

While we count down to our fourth event in central Queensland, we thought we’d take a look back at all the awesome cars unveiled at Rockynats thus far.

Rare Spares Rockynats 01:

Rockynats 01 saw the unveiling of three cars that have certainly made their mark on the scene namely Billy Shelton’s SICKEST Holden VL Commodore, which has gone on to win Rockynats twice and once over at Red CentreNATS. It’s still one of the hottest cars getting around, appearing at events all over the country.

Judith Menso’s Holden LX Torana has also been a force to be reckoned with on the show circuit, popping up at Meguiar’s MotorEx, Summernats, Red CentreNATS just to name a few. This Whipple-blown iron lion powered Torana was actually Judith’s very first car, which has since been turned into this incredible show car.

Red CentreNATS champ Graham Miller rocked up at Rockynats 01 as the Red CentreNATS reigning Grand Champ after winning in his blown Holden EH sedan, and unveiled an absolutely gorgeous EH van to boot. He’d only finished the van a week prior to the show, and it was a monumental effort to get it wrapped up time to debut at the first ever Rockynats event.

Rare Spares Rockynats 02:

Day one at Rockynats 02 saw the covers pulled off four absolutely incredible rides in the show hall, kicking off with Phil Kirby’s incredibly straight HAMR Deep Crystal Blue XT Fairmont. Under the hood lies a 427ci Dart-blocked Windsor motor and a T5 manual gearbox.

Corey Phil from Street Elite Industries delivered an extremely impressive LC GTR for a client. The Torana also features a 427ci Dart-block engine (LS7) but has two Precision 6062 turbos hanging off the side and a Pro Trans turbo 400 transmission. It pumps out an impressive 730hp at just 6psi!

Rockhampton local Warren Burggraff of Wazrods & Restoration unveiled something fairly left of field for ‘Nate events, a 1933 Crossley. It’s not often you’ll see a Pommy car built to this sort of standard, but there is little of the original car left in it. The entire body has been hand-fabricated out of steel, with a stack of custom-made pieces. It’s got a 350 Chev’ crate motor up front and was definitely something the crowd stuck around to look at after its unveil.

Finishing off Rockynats 02, Shannon and Karen Christoffel unveiled the INXILE LX Torana sedan. You’d have seen this car all over the net and at plenty of shows, featuring a 434-cube small-block Chef by MPR engines, with a TBS 8/71 billet blower and Joe Blo injector hat piercing through the bonnet.

Rare Spares Rockynats 03:

Rockynats 03 was the largest of the lot, with six brand spanking new cars and one elite bike unveiled at the show.

Steve Wilkes unveiled his LS-powered VL Walkinshaw that was finished just in time for the show. It’s finished in a gorgeous dark grey paint and packs a punch thanks to its 408ci LS powerhouse up front.

Elton Walker brought along his insane ’57 Chevy Wagon which features an unreal two-tone colour combo and tan interior. It’s an old school cruiser but filled to the brim with modern tech, including a 600hp LSA crate engine, push-button control to lift the tailgate and custom LED indicators behind the glass of the side mirrors.

Trevor Cooper brought out his race-ready LC Torana and it was an absolute jaw-dropper. The blown Torana is built on a custom race frame, fully equipped with wheelie bars and chutes on the back.

Bruce Knight’s LX Hatchback was another great addition to the show, sitting pretty with its eye-catching iridium silver colour and ghost stripes down the body. It’s got an LS2 up front, and the interior trim is thanks to a late model VE Commodore dash.

Chris Pasceo brought out an epic original XY Falcon, unveiling a car that was as fresh as it was when it rolled out of the production line.

Similarly, Luke Mitchell unveiled a better-than-factory HK Monaro that he finished up in the final five days leading up to the event.

While we countdown to Rare Spares Rockynats 04, it’s great to look back at all the killer rides that we’ve lifted the covers off in the years gone by.
