After many years of hard work Josh brought his supercharged Big Block Holden HQ Ute to MotorEx 2022 to be unveiled in the Inauguration Hall - having the covers pulled off a build of a lifetime is no doubt a huge moment for someone who has poured loads of time, money and love into their pride and joy.
The car was built by Del City Kustoms over a period of around three years. The car itself was found in Launceston, Tasmania. Josh’s had the car for around 12 years, but like so many builds to get them where you want can take time. Josh drove it for a few years and then “basically” pulled it down ready for a full makeover.
In terms of noise Josh’s Holden HQ Ute runs a Big Block Chevrolet with an 8/71 BDS blower, some Joe Blo goodies, a Reid Turbo 400 and a trusty nine-inch diff. Josh told us at MotorEx 2022 that it runs really well. Josh said:
“I built it to mainly do events like Powercruise, Summernats and prob take it out to the track - but prob not try and kill it too much.”
Now that it’s all built and ready to show and go expect to see ‘DUFFY’ at various shows and events around the country. Who doesn’t love a Big Block Holden Ute.
