Bugatti enthusiasts launched their 400km/h hypercars down a 5km runway that has previously been used by one of the fastest man-made vehicles ever created - the Space Shuttle.

French automotive giant Bugatti provided 18 of its hypercar owners a once-in-a-lifetime adventure – the chance to legally exceed 400km/h on the iconic NASA space shuttle runway in Florida.

Staged at the Kennedy Space Centre’s Launch and Landing Facility – a site that marked the conclusion of NASA's space shuttle missions – the ‘Bugatti 400 Sprint’ was organized in April 2023 exclusively for a select group of the French marque's global clientele.

The goal - to drive at least 400km/h on the 4.8-kilometre runway in a fleet of Chiron hypercars. Bugatti asserts all 18 clients attained speeds up to 412 km/h with each participant later presented with a custom Bugatti race suit and helmet, engraved with the maximum speed they clocked.
