Workshop Tour: Autowerks Automotive

If you live in Sydney, have some sort of LS-powered vehicle and want to get more power out of it, chances are that Sonny Duran is high up on your list of people to make it purr.

Sonny made a name for himself as the gun LS guru at Marrano's Mechanical Repairs in Croydon, with his skills helping cement the workshop as a pillar of Holden performance in Sydney.

Earlier in the week we got a call from Sonny informing us that he has opened up a new million dollar facility in Beverly Hills, a workshop by the name of Autowerks Automotive.

Impressed with his work in the past, we thought we might as well get the Performance Garage crew down there and let's just say it didn't disappoint.

Walking through the front door the first thing that struck us was it's clinical cleanliness. Looking left and right everything is brand new and only the best of the best. Off the workshop you will find a dedicated engine building room, sound proofed dyno room and luxury customer waiting area, all of which are kept immaculately clean.

Sonny may be famous for his magic touch with GM powerplants but don't for a second think that is all he's good for, happy to take on whatever you can throw at him.

While we were there, he had a couple of Mercedes C63s destined for some boost and one up on the hoist with an absolutely gorgeous stainless steel exhaust that Sonny fabricated himself.
