Stainless Wrapped XY

Anthony Caronna built a 1971 XY GT replica with old school cool and serious power. Featuring 3M's Scotchprint vinyl wrap for a brushed aluminium look, a 393ci Clevo engine producing 580hp, and a stunning red leather interior with carbon fibre-look accents.

When Anthony Caronna of Anthony Caronna Custom Bodyworks set out to build his 1971 XY GT replica, he wasn't planning to follow the current trend of flashy paint and chrome wheels. Instead, he has embraced old school cool but at the same time, given it some serious teeth.

I wanted to go for something a little bit out there," says Anthony. "You know, something a bit different.

To achieve this, Anthony got his hands on some of 3M's new Scotchprint vinyl wrap and covered the entire exterior with it. Hours of labour has created a that's tough as nails finish that looks like brushed aluminium.

Of course the aesthetics aren't the only area that was beefed up, with a seriously tough driveline supporting this sinister XY.

Pop the bonnet and you will find a stout 393ci Clevo cranking out an estimated 580hp, surrounded by a sea of gorgeous Monza Red. The whole car is actually painted this colour underneath the wrap, as the vinyl needs a smooth, glossy finish to adhear properly.

Taking a glance through the windows, Anthony's XY is just as stunning inside as out. The immaculate red leather interior is accented with scattered features all wrapped in the same carbon fibre-look vinyl as used for the bonnet stripes.
