Father and son team Ken and Rob Jones restored this genuine 1969 Holden Monaro GTS V8.

“It took us about seven years to finish doing a lot of the work ourselves” begins concreter Rob Jones, the son in this story. The work was also completed with “thanks to Les Nayler and Matty’s Paint Shop for helping out”.'

”My Dad, better known as Pops, and I spent many years collecting parts from swap meets, eBay and even garage sales” continues Rob who, with his father Ken, returned this genuine 1969 Holden Monaro GTS V8 back to its original state.

The car was bought as a project in 2007, and once they’d completed it in 2014 it looked almost exactly the way it did when it rolled off the factory floor. This particular Monaro has the model number of 80837TR for an HT GTS V8, and in the engine bay there is a 307ci Chevrolet Small Block.

The car’s paint is Daytona Bronze and the vinyl upholstery is Sandalwood. And of course the exterior and interior both have all the GTS-specific features like the guard flutes and the sports instrumentation. They have achieved an impressive result and have every intention of keeping the car now that it's complete.

You can read all about Ken and Rob’s restored HT Monaro GTS V8 in a special magazine called Restored Legends Holden Monaro. Be quick to grab your copy if you haven’t already.
