The C10 Skyline, affectionately dubbed 'Hakosuka' referring to its boxy shape, is the patriarch of the Nissan hero car that we have all come to love. As the first Skyline to bare the iconic GT-R badge this model represented the beginning of one of Japan's strongest automotive bloodlines and as such, has become quite the collectable. Outside of Japan these things are as rare as hen's teeth, with only a handful reaching our sunny shores and even fewer actually on the road.
One of the lucky fellows to own part of this awesome ancestry is Kevin San or as some of you about the JDM community may know him, Babalouie. After trawling through numerous C10s in the land of the rising sun, Kevin finally came across this gorgeous Skyline 2000GT in December 2007 and he knew it had to be his. What followed was a fastidious 18-month restoration chronicled in one of the most interesting build threads I have ever read, resulting in arguably the coolest C10 in the country. HoonTV caught up with Kevin not long after the car was completed and offered a closer look at a piece of automotive history many of us will never get it see in person. In the video below Kevin poignantely states that "once you drive a car like this, a new car just feels dead." I can't help but agree with him and after watching the video, I'm sure you will too.
