Mystery Billet Engine Makes 2000HP And Runs A 6sec Pass

Even the most well-trained eyes will struggle to recognise the unusual engine combo powering this Pro Mod!

Lurking in the pits of Orlando Speed World Dragway for World Sport Compact Challenge was the Pety Fuser Engines (PFE) powered VW Arteon Pro Mod, but it was more than just the giant compound Precision turbos that stole our attention!

The Brazilian based tuner has designed their own engine blocks, loosely modeled off the VW flat four-cylinder engines, but improved inside and out to allow power potential of up to 1,600hp in their second generation engines, and 2,500hp in their third generation engines!

The block itself is billet and has no water passages. It uses a custom crank and rotating assembly, with plenty of meat added between cylinder bores as well as redesigned geometry inside the block to reduce load on the rods gudgeon pin, minimising failure points at big boost.

The valvetrain is entirely custom too, with PFE claiming the head and valvetrain in the third gen’ engines are good for up to an inch of lift!

The car at World Sport Compact Challenge uses the third gen block with a Precision ProMod 88 and ProMod 106 turbochargers. At the time of writing the car had gone 6.63sec@203mph.
