Italian Restomod: Alfa Romeo With Ferrari Engine Swap

A prancing pony engine stuffed in to this Alfa Romeo 105 keeps it all-Italian!

From the outside looking in, this might seem like a really odd engine conversion but we’ve done the hard yards for you to find out why it’s so cool, and included some trivia to impress your car buddies with.

The truth is, the connection between Alfa Romeo and Ferrari predates the modern era of Ferrari cars. Prior to setting up his own company, Enzo Ferrari actually drove for Alfa Romeo and over the years supplied everything from his engineering prowess to performance parts to both Alfa and a range of other manufacturers, which gives this ballistic little engine swap a little more context.

Painstakingly pieced together by Aussie blogger Home Built By Jeff, it’s been appropriately dubbed the Alfarrari. The body is an Alfa Romeo 105 and the engine is a 400hp 3.6L V8 from a Ferrari 360 - we don’t imagine it’s the cheapest way to stop your classic Alfa leaking oil, but it’s undoubtedly the best sounding!

The car itself is in stunning condition, having been fully restored and painted in Ferrari yellow. The interior is fully custom and the engine has been detailed to the same high standard.

Jeff’s YouTube channel covers the entire build from start to finish, as well as some of his other interesting projects. It’s definitely worth a watch.
