Already an insane vehicle in its own right, auto-fettling company Hennessey believed there was untapped potential. From Dodge the SRT Hellcat punches out 717hp horsepower, but that’s where things just start warming up for Hennessey.
The stock Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat can shoot from 0-60mph in just 3.7 seconds, and blasts through the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds. This is literally supercar territory, but in an American muscle car. Hennessey, however, turns it all up - introducing the H1000 Dodge Challenger Hellcat.
Hennessey's enhancements include an upgraded supercharging system, stainless-steel headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and improved induction and ventilation systems. The result? How about 1000hp and 948lb-ft of torque. Who needs 717hp when you can have 1000hp. Yes please.
This output nearly rivals that of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, boasting 1025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque on E85. The H1000 is banging right on the door of the Demon.
The exterior of the H1000 is coated in ‘Destroyer Grey’ and is complemented by vivid yellow accents, a Midnight Metallic Hellcat badge and 20-inch Devil Rims with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Hennessey also offers a Jailbreak body kit with customisable aero extras. Buyers can personalise details like brake calliper colour and leather shades within the cabin.
As for pricing, details remain undisclosed. It's worth noting that the era of the HEMI is drawing to a close, making this a limited opportunity to experience its power - savour the V8 engine while you can, people!
Future Charger and Challenger models will feature a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre Hurricane inline-six engine, likely complemented by hybrid technology. This marks a significant transition from the revered V8 engines we've grown accustomed to. What do you think? Will you miss the HEMI V8?
