Dave Spinks has transformed his genuine LH SL/R 5000 into one of the most desirable machines on Australian blacktop.
“I purchased the car 16 years ago, have brought my two daughters home in it, and it was our wedding car ten years ago” starts the 35 year old. He also informs us that since the initial purchase “it has been rebuilt three times”.
The paint applied during the last of those rebuilds is red with a gold pearl mixed through it, and you can see how it looks a little different from various angles. You can also see that the now-pristine panels on this sedan wear the larger bodykit pieces styled like the LX A9X.
Those big wheel arches are also properly filled with a set of 20x8.5in and 20x10in Showwheels, the rears wearing 25-profile tyres.
There's a lot more to this car than bodywork and wheels however. Dave also decided to give it a rebuilt and stroked 383ci (6.3L) LS1 V8 that makes an easy 440 rear-wheel horsepower.
That enlarged later-model engine also lives in a very tidy engine bay befitting the car's overall Pro Touring styling, and behind it is an equally-modern 4L60-E electronic 4-speed auto.
The interior is also extremely tidy, and Dave points out that it was actually done 12 years ago, but it still looks amazing.
