Drive Your Cool Car To MotorEx And Get Discounted Entry!

The scene’s foremost authority on street-driven show cars talks about the importance of MotorEx’s Real Street, and why it’s the best value way to enjoy the show.

Meguiar's MotorEx continues to evolve in to an all-encompassing motoring Mecca, and one of our favourite elements of the event is Rare Spares Real Street - an exciting addition that balances out the glittering, big dollar builds that make the event such a spectacle, with more attainable and relatable street machines and weekend cruisers.

It’s the place where punters can park their cool cars if they’re coming along to the event, score discounted entry to the show and take home some goodies, including their shot at a few Real Street specific trophies!

We bent the ear of Damien Lowe of Lowe Fabrications, who famously never towed his VB Commodore ‘CHU88Y’ to an event, including those years he won the Street Class at Summernats 21 and backed it up by driving it over the Nullabor to Perth for Motorvation the following year in 2009!

If anyone is qualified to talk about the importance of celebrating street cars, it’s him.

“Real Street is the perfect stepping stone for MotorEx, and a really healthy expansion of Australia’s biggest indoor car show,” begins Chub’, who’s been attending the event since its foundational days in The Dome at Homebush, NSW.

“People can cruise their nice street car to the event and be a part of the event even if they don’t have a show car. They get that same sense of pride of having a car at MotorEx without needing to get into one of the halls,” he adds.

“For the spectators, it adds another element to the show. You’ve got around 200 cars inside the hall and then hundreds more on display outside, and the variety is just unreal. It definitely makes the ticket price worthwhile,” says Chub.

“The calibre of the unveiled cars these days is sensational, but there’s a reason we only see a handful built every year. Real Street is a way to foster talent in the Street Elite class as you might see one car arrive at Real Street one year, then evolve and end up on display inside one of the halls next year,” explains Chub, ever keen to cultivate the culture of street driven show cars in Australia.
