We caught up with Andrew Farell who runs the Aussie Van Nationals in Queensland. He’s been involved for the last eight years and he too has noticed the comeback. Panel vans were renown for having the most expressive art over the years, in more recent years it’s been more sandman stripes and the factory stripes but that’s quickly changing.
Last year compared to this year there is five times the amount of airbrushing there used to be, it’s definitely becoming popular again.”
Two years ago, we unveiled Joe Veevers Impala at Motorvation in Western Australia. The local tattooist and airbrush artist showcasing some of his awesome skills through his candy blue paint job. This is just one style we are seeing a lot more of.
Let’s not forget Jason Kennedy’s sled from Summernats 35. And another place that you will notice some crazy graphics is Rockynats 04, the fully custom show bikes next year will blow you away. Now more than ever before we are seeing some cool, crazy, exotic custom paint jobs.
This is just the start of some amazing works of art hitting the show circuit again. We can’t wait to see more of it!
