Must See Car Events Coming up in 2023

2023 has already kicked off with a bang after two huge events in January. The Street Machine Summernats broke records for its 35th event and Atlantic Oils Top Fuel Slam was another record breaker with drag racing fans cramming into Sydney Dragway last weekend. If these two events are anything to go by, we’re in for a mega run of mad events throughout the rest of the year - so make sure you stop in and check these out when they’re on!

Burson Auto Parts Motorvation 37

When: February 3-5
Where: Perth Motorplex (WA)

The oldest running car event in the country kicks off this weekend at the Perth Motorplex, with a sold out entrant list ready to party over the three day weekend. The show features burnouts, Skid Row, unveils and elite show cars, cruising and stacks more. It’s going to be a big one so we’ll see you there! If you’re planning on coming out we recommend you grab your tickets online so you don’t have to wait in the line at the gates.

Mac Track 52nd Westernationals Featuring Top Fuel

When: March 4-5
Where: Perth Motorplex (WA)

We’re back at the ‘Plex for round 5 of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship along with Round 6 of the Australian Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle Championships.

Plus Round 8 of Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series will see Australia’s best Sportsman racers mixing it on the Motorplex quarter mile!

WA local Kyle Putland is set to join the Top Fuel fraternity for the second time racing in the championship after a debut race earlier in the season. It’s a must attend event for WA rev-heads so mark it in your calendar and head out and support Aussie drag racing.

Rare Spares Rockynats 03

When: April 7-9
Where: Rockhampton (QLD)

Rare Spares Rockynats is back Easter 2023 with a record sold-out entry list with well over 1500 of QLD’s coolest street machines, hot rods, imports and everything in-between. The event will feature street drags through Rockhampton CBD, the biggest street parade of its kind in the country, burnouts, show ’n’ shine and plenty more. We’re ready to rock! Spectator tickets are selling fast, so grab yours before it’s too late.

Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Round 6 - Nitro Champs

When: May 6-7
Where: Sydney Dragway (NSW)

Top Fuelers will return to Sydney Dragway for round 6 of the championship, alongside Top Doorslammer, Top Bike and plenty of sportsman category racers ready to put on another show at Sydney Dragway. There’s plenty more to be announced for this event, so keep your eyes out on the Top Fuel Australia social channels for more info. Mark it in your calendar!

Meguiar’s MotorEx

When: May 6-7
Where: Melbourne Showgrounds (VIC)

Running on the same weekend as Nitro Champs, Australia’s premiere custom car show kicks off at the Melbourne Showgrounds May 6-7. The show will feature the top end qualifiers for the Meguiar’s Superstar competition, with cars coming from all over the country for a shot at the elusive Grand Master title. Of course, there’ll be an entire hall dedicated to top notch streeters in the Street Elite, Muscle Car Marvel and exhibition hall PLUS the very best street cruisers and clubs parked up in Rare Spares Real Street. 

There will be plenty of live driving demonstrations from the crew at Drift Cadet, plus the biggest automotive aftermarket trade hall for you to spend hours looking at the latest and greatest new products on offer. It’s set to be a big one and we’ve heard spots inside the show is super limited. If you’ve been holding off your entry, we suggest getting yours in ASAP!

Red CentreNATS 09

When: September 1-3
Where: Alice Springs (NT)

Australia’s coolest car cruising event is back with Red CentreNATS 09. The only event in the country where you can see blown-methanol burnout cars cruising the city streets, lining up at Macca’s for a slushie AND doing there thing on the burnout pad. There’s a massive show ’n’ shine, a street parade, drag racing, 4WD tracks and plenty more. If you’ve never been, this is the year to go! It’s a wicked adventure and we can’t wait to head back to the Red Centre.

Nitro up North - BETR Darwin Triple Crown

When: June 16-17
Where: Hidden Valley Raceway (NT)

The final round of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship heads north to Darwin, joining Supercars and Australian Super Bike for the Merlin Triple Crown event. If you’re looking for one event to scratch that motorsport itch, this is it! With Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer, Top Bike, Sportsman and heaps more it’s going to be big. Join us in Darwin as we crown a new Top Fuel Champion, award the Stan Sainty Cup and check out some wicked Supercars and ASBK action!
