Burnout Drivers Ready to Smash Tyres at Red CentreNATS 09

With one of the most special car events the traveling Summernats team put on each year, Red CentreNATS is gearing up for its ninth event in Alice Springs. We’ve seen this event continue to grow and grow, but this year promises to be the biggest yet with a stack of brand-new things in the program making for one helluva outright horsepower meeting, right in the middle.

With entrants traveling to the Red Centre from all over the country, this year’s show is set to be a big one - with a stack of tyre destroying entrants ready to do battle at Alice Springs Inland Dragway fighting for a stack of cash and prizes. It’s all for outright bragging rights and of course a ticket into the big show at Summernats 36. Here are just a handful of the entrants that are ready to smash tyres at RCN 09.

Jake Myers - S1CKO

The reigning Summernats 35 and Brashernats winner has missed the last few Red CentreNATS shows, but the Myers-built 302ci Windsor Mustang is headed back to Alice Springs Inland Dragway for a massive party. Off the back of a stack of big competition wins and a pretty epic Hoonigan display, the Myers’ Mustang is in hot demand and we can’t wait to see it back out on the pad at Red CentreNATS 09.

Kev Davis - EPAWHO

Mr Tropical Meltdown himself is headed back to the Red Centre with that stout 408ci iron block VZ Commodore ready to put on another massive show at ASID. Kev will also be coming off the back of a few killer events (namely his own) and will be ready to let off some steam at RCN09. Be ready for the new blown combo.

Mick Hinchy - CL1KB8

A Red CentreNATS debutant, Mick is headed straight from Gazzanats down to meet in the middle for his first ever Alice event. Plenty of those who follow Mick’s strong following online will be keen as to see the wagon out on show in the middle of Australia. Who knows, we might even see him pull through the Macca’s Drive-Thru for a quick methanol McFlurry!

Robert ‘Cottee’ Cottrell - 4DH8RS

Our reigning Red CentreNATS champion is back on deck for another year ready to defend last year’s Red Centre win. If the skid from Red CentreNATS 08 is anything to go by, we could definitely be in for a back-to-back win for Cottee out in Alice. After cracking through to the finals at Brashernats and sorting out some mechanical gremlins, we’re sure 4DH8RS will be ready to belt tyres in Alice.

Jay Chun Tie - Tiny Towing

Everyones favourite Suzuki Carry and party-man driver Jay Chun Tie missed out on Red Centre last year, opting for a year off - but this year we’ll be treated to the wild Tiny Towing living it up in Alice Springs. A huge supporter of the show, you’ll not only catch Jay and his family out on the pad at ASID, but cruising around town, always the Macca’s Run, and in the street parade AND maybe running a fat lap down the drag strip. We’re pumped to see it back out for a massive show at Red CentreNATS 09!

Peter Grmusa - ATRISK XR Falcon

Pete’s wild 700-plus cubic-inch XR Falcon has been on a roll this year, winning Rockynats and the recent Tropical Meltdown. If you’ve ever seen this car in person smash tyres you know you’re in for a proper treat. The smoke spread of this car is something to be awe of. Few cars in the could compete with Pete’s Falcon in terms of noise, smoke, presence and style. After all, Pete received a Hall Of Fame jacket at this year’s Summernats for his service to the sport of burnouts. If that doesn’t sell you the reason to see this car and champion skid then you mustn’t have a pulse.

There’s a stack more entrants flooding through, so we’ll be sure to do a part two. Plenty more big name tyre torturers are set to join us in the Red Centre, amongst another thousand street machines. We’re pumped - and you should be, too.

If you haven’t got your entry in yet you better get to it!
