Some may say that the sex-spec scene is dead but after taking one look at Michael’s S15, I can confidently say that it has just evolved.

Chome 20s have been replaced with rollers of the same size gorgeously crafted by Simmons and although the same flashy, show-stopping styling theme is there, it has been somewhat refined.

Queen Street Customs are totally immersed in this candy-coated scene so Michael’s choice to leave his newly acquired Silvia with them just two weeks after purchasing it is understandable, and was definitely a good one! Before we get to he transformation though, let’s wind it back a bit.

Michael saw the Silvia listed for sale and while it looked nothing like the showstopper you see before you, the engine work had already been completed and after a test drive, he was hooked.

Speaking of this fateful drive he says, “We took the S15 out, went through first, snapped into second and it was like the car was on ice. It was crazy.” Considering it was pumping out around 400rwhp on 18psi we aren’t surprised that traction was a bit of an issue and all of the excitement saw Michael buy it right then and there.

Like I said before, it wasn’t very long before the S15 was in the hands of the crew at Queen St, with the original plan being a simple interior overhaul. As you can see though, things got a bit out of hand and considering that Queen St are experts in exterior, interior and audio, it wasn’t hard for Michael to just let them do their thing.

Once the custom tan leather was underway, Queen St questioned Michael if he’d be interested in fibreglassing as well. At first Michael didn’t want a huge stereo in the back either, but as Moey tactfully suggested, “Why not? You’re not exactly going to be putting groceries in the boot!”

So the snowball began to roll downhill and before long, this one-of-a-kind S15 started to take shape. A serious stereo was installed, complete with four Alpine amps driving four Vibe BlackAir 12-inch subs. A suicide door kit was fitted and to complete the audio gear, a pair of 6-inch Vibe splits were fitted in each door.

To compliment the wicked interior, the exterior had to be top notch. The initial plan was to go with the trademark pink and purple colour scheme that Queen St have sprayed many times but in the end, he decided that the candy purple all over would be the way to go.

Michael’s car is a perfect example of a modern take on sex-spec styling and in the short two weeks he had the car back before the photo shoot, he had absolutely fallen in love. Speaking of the build he says “It’s been a good experience. It’s been a dream of mine. I’ve always wanted to do it.”

It is certainly a stunner but don’t think that you’ll only be seeing it on the show scene, with Michael currently going through the process of getting it engineered. He has told us that once this is done it will be hitting the streets so keep your eyes peeled!
