2023 Harrigan's Rod & Custom Show - The Biggest Ever!

On an epic Sunday along the waterfront of Harrigan’s Irish pub at Jacobs Well hundreds of hot rods, custom cars and bikes filled the grounds - the biggest turn out that Harrigan’s Rod & Custom Show has ever seen.

With a turn out of over 600 entrants this was a great day out in the Queensland sunshine for families and car heads alike. Even the locals sitting out the front of their homes watching the cool rides roll past.

As the spectators flocked in, they made their way over to Jamie ‘Jimmy’ Craig’s unveil. This was a special moment with father and son by his side. They pulled off that silk sheet to reveal a cherry black candy 1948 Velox Vauxhall. This once four door sedan is now a two-door coupe with plenty of body modifications that are subtle but classic and tough.

“This is the second build of this car. After the first restoration it was in a major accident coming off a car carrier and I lost the love for the car. It was insured by Shannons. I salvaged the car back and my amazing wife found a donor body and we started on this new journey.”

There was plenty of other cool things going on against this killer backdrop. A dragster start up revved up the crowds and the awesome Jetpack Events comp impressing everyone with arial tricks over the whole day.

There were so many stand-out cars from car clubs such as the Impalas Car Club and Fresh Stylz through to sponsors like Ridez By Kam who were the guest judges this year. Taking out Car Of Show was Elton Walker’s custom Nomad wagon that was unveiled at the last Rockynats.

The live cover band played all day while food and beverages were served from the pub, the atmosphere was outstanding and the guys and gals that ran this show should be proud of a great turn out.

We are all looking forward to next year already. Bring on summer and bad ass rides!
