1300hp Audi TT RS Has Us Questioning Everything

All it took to change our minds about Audi’s once unloved TT platform was 60psi and 7-second quarters!

I won’t profess to being entirely familiar with what makes a great modified Audi, but I know my top ten things that I look for in a modified car, and items one through nine on that list are giant turbochargers!

Let’s be honest, the Audi TT makes a fairly clear statement about its owner. Plonked on the spectrum of Audi vehicles somewhere between their luxury saloon cars and SUVs and their blistering RS range of performance vehicles, the TT platform is unique within the Audi line up. It’s certainly never been a platform that i’ve associated with huge aftermarket potential, until I saw this one.

Built by Dutter Racing in Austria, you’re essentially staring at a G45-1500 turbocharged that’s been modified to accept an Audi TT RS, so dominating is the giant war whistle blowing over 4bar of pressure (almost 60psi in the old money) down the throat of an Audi 5-cylinder engine.

You might be thinking that such astronomical figures might be cause for playing ‘catch the conrod’, but we’re happy to reveal that the dyno room floor remains void of any engine pieces or oil spills.

In fact, the German five cylinder spat out over 1300-wheel-horsepower, which the Dutter crew put to good use across various airport and roll racing events, as well as propelling the Audi in the high-7s down the quarter!

The fact that the team have managed to keep the body looking largely factory is a terrifying thought - with the race wheels and Hoosier tyres removed, along with some of the stickers, you wouldn’t look twice at this humble little TT RS! In fact, aside from the front mount intercooler and dump pipe exiting through the bonnet, there are no permanent outward clues as to this little Audi’s phenomenal power output.

Team Dutter have a range of other wild Audi-badged creations on their socials, and the dyno footage of this thing with almost 60-pound up it’s skirt aren’t hard to take either.
